The doors are manufactured according to European EN standards through locally sourced components and then assembled to accommodate the windows and guide rails, whereafter the doors are packaged for delivery to Gibela. The current delivery schedule is set at six train sets per month.
Each train has 36 door systems – three per side of each car. The door control mechanism has been designed to optimise stopping times, ultimately increasing passenger volumes, as well as providing enhanced safety features. The computerised system ensures that the train cannot leave the station unless all doors are closed, whilst at the same time mitigating tampering or system override and ensuring the doors do not open during operation or accidently close on a person. At the same time, an emergency exit system has also been provided.
