South Africa Ratifies the Luxembourg Rail Protocol
South Africa has ratified the Luxembourg Rail Protocol, becoming the 6th State and the second in Africa to do so. Effective 1st May 2025, the Protocol will enhance railway financing, support rolling stock procurement, and drive rail infrastructure development, aligning with Africa’s open-access rail reforms.
